Part# 10-047

Application:

  • Safari Magnum Chassis with BF Goodrich Velvet Ride suspension 1996-2001

Description:

  • This kit comes with one front radius rod for front to back movement on the front axle with all the mounting hardware needed. This bar has urethane bushings with steel sleeves for long life. The Radius rods are adjustable. The factory only suppied a radius rod on the driver side of the front axle and those were generaly a heim joint that goes bad rather quickly. These are a great upgrade and addition to the passenger side.

I was just Greaseing the chassis and I saw the rod i beleave is the one you guys are selling a replacement for. There are no bushings left on it. I can take pictures of it and there are no bushings left on a couple other places. It also is getting a death wobble. I beleave it's that rod. I was in construction and the motorhome was the home for about 12 years so it sat still for years at a time. The last time was 4 years at my daughter's house when we moved it that's when I discovered the wobble. At a speed above 35 mph it would try to shake its self apart I thought it was tires. I just moved a couple miles and was running 50 and everything was fine until I hit a rough spot in the road I had to bring it to a stop and start again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Like I said I can take pictures ofbthe missing bushings and rod if that will help. Thank you Keith ( Keith Byerly, 09/01/2022 )
Hello Keith , you can email us picture of the areas that are missing bushings and we can help identify what is needed. The "death wobble" is not likely to be caused by the thrust rod missing bushings, however that will definitely allow the axle to shift front to back under braking and contribute to loose steering feel as well. Tire issues can act like that as well, and other worn or missing bushings exaggerate the condition.  You can send pictures to :  support@urvp.com  ( Support )

Does it require welding to install?

( Roger hinton, 07/07/2015 )
