15961566  -  SWITCH ASM - PARK BRAKE PUMP

The infamous rotten green switch for the P32 J71 Auto Park Brake. These are a high failure rate part. We strongly recommend ordering our high quality, lifetime guaranteed pressure switch US21P or the set of switches US21 or US22.

I have a Winnebago adventurer on a P-30 chasis. Two weeks ago after driving over a mountain and within 10 feet of our back-in spot the auto brake came on while still in drive. After pushing and releasing the foot park brake it did release and I was able to put in reverse. I paid the $525 to have it towed home. I very good mechanic checked it out and said he could not find an issue. I think the GM 15961566 is the problem what do you think ?

Usually the pressure  switch fails by leaking all the fluid out or cycling the pump/ and or turning the warning light on , what year is your chassis ? , the earlier models have a switch at the base of the steering column than can fail and cause issues with reverse .
What happens if this switch fails. My auto park does not engage, rv rolls freely though auto park light is on. ( Stanley M Turnbull, 07/19/2018 )
The brake will default to the applied position if switch fails. This in turn will burn the brake up and then cause the coach not to hold. You would want to replace the factory switches with our high quality set, part # US21 for starters. You will need to replace the brake shoes at minimum but may need other parts depending on severity of damage.
