Koni 99B-3209

Note: Some Spartan applications do not have enough clearance to accommodate the larger diameter of this shock. Please measure your existing shock diameter if you have a Reyco Granning 1200 axle, the 99B-3209 is 2.75" in diameter.

This is the New Front Heavy Duty replacement shock for the 8805-1021 used previously on the front axle of the Alpine Peak, Roadmaster RR4R, Workhorse UFO & Spartan MountainMaster I-Beam chassis. It became evident after a few years that the 8805-1021 just wasn't holding up to the weight and demands of these chassis. The Koni engineers went to work and did real world testing to come up with a shock that would increase the ride comfort yet be built to withstand the most punishing demands thrown its way.

The main difference between the 8805 and the 99 series piston is that it is almost 40% larger than the 8805 series (50 mm vs 36). Which means it can take a lot more force, or the same force with less pressure. This improves durability and performance. The 99 series is also Koni's latest shock design. It was developed for high end motorcoaches in Europe, and Koni is just starting to introduce it in America in the RV market. Both shocks control up and down movement, but Koni has found a better balance between the two with the 99 series setting.

Ride Quality:

Experience a smooth controlled ride on your Class A motor home with Koni EVO 99 shock absorbers. Koni's patented open intake valves ensure that you get a smooth ride along with enough force to keep your RV from bouncing down the road. EVO 99 is especially good on independent front suspensions that have a limited amount of shock travel. Large piston holes and custom tuned valve stack ensure that you have extra body control when you need it without undue harshness. You don't want poor road conditions to spoil your cross-country trip. Our 50mm bore piston reduces internal pressure for smooth operation over rough roads, and our digressive valve stack and modular piston design control bouncing over bridges and large bumps.

Durability:

Performance parts should last, and Koni EVO 99 shocks can go the distance with our industry leading 9 T tensile strength. We back our products up with a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser.

Worldwide Reputation:

Koni is known as the shock absorber specialist worldwide. We have committed ourselves to delivering the finest quality product with the best performance. This philosophy results in unrivaled durability, superb road performance and maximum customer satisfaction.

i have a work horse 22 winabago 2007 we had bilstein 24-268097 and 24-186629 shocks on it in the past will the koni 99 series shocks fit the front ? ( brandon, 06/28/2024 )
Hello, the W22 chassis calls for the Koni FSD's , 8805-1001's and the 07 takes  8805-1002's in the rear . We do not list an EVO for that chassis.  ( Support )
Hi,

Will this shock 99B3209 work on the front of my Freightliner S2RV chassis? It’s a renegade super C.
( John Young, 05/25/2023 )
Dimensionally, the compressed and extended lengths are very similar. The OEM shock is 14.33" compressed and 22.80" extended. The 99B-3209 is 14.92" compressed and 23.59" extended. The unknown is where the width of the mounts for the shock are the same or different. The OEM shock appears to have "ears" that stick out from the bushing on either side which leads me to think they might be a little wider than the 99B-3209. This could be overcome with some spacers or even washers but I can't confirm exact fit for this application. ( Support )
I would like to order 2 Koni 99B-3209 Front shocks for my 2007 Monaco Holiday Rambler Neptune XL with a Roadmaster RR4R chassis. Are these a good fit and what would I order for the rear?
The coach has 46,580 miles on it and I have noticed the front porpoising from time to time, I'd also like to improve the ride.
( Tom Wise, 08/08/2021 )

Hi Tom,

Based on your VIN provided the 99b-3209 are the correct shock for the front of your coach. The rear calls for 8805-1022. From the complaints you are trying to correct I would say, yes these are a great place to start!

I would like to order 2 Koni 99B-3209 Front shocks for my 2004 Western Alpine motorhome. Can you let me know when they are back in stock? Thanks, Kent D. Zehring. 717-554-5580 ( Kent D Zehring, 02/27/2021 )
We should have 99B-3209 in stock around the first week of April, 2021. ( Support )
I have a 2008 UFO chassis, can you get FSD shocks front and rear? ( Kip Barker, 07/09/2020 )
You would use the Koni EVO 99B-3209 for the front and the Koni FSD 8805-1002 for the rear. ( Support )
I have a 2003 holiday rambler. Ambassador
38’ diesel pusher. Will these fit in front.
Thank you
( Brian meador, 05/02/2020 )
Based on your year, make, and model, those 99b-3209 come up as the correct ones for the front axle on your coach. The rear call for 8805-1022 ( Support )
I have a 2010 Tiffin Phaeton 40QTH built on the Tiffin Powerglide chassis.
The rig is still riding on OEM Bilstein shocks front and rear.

Looking at switching to Koni shocks, but I have no idea what model and part
numbers to look at for my rig.

Help.
( Steven Fischer, 05/17/2019 )
We aren't able to look up Powerglide chassis VIN's but if you can confirm it is an I-beam front axle then 99B-3209 should be your fronts and 8805-1009 should be your rears. If you can get the Bilstein #'s off the original shocks we can try and confirm that way as well. ( Support )
I would like to know what Koni shocks for my 2015 Entegra Anthem.
Spartan Serial Number is :73636450 Model ISL
( RICK YOCUM, 03/18/2019 )
Your coach has the Reyco Granning IFS model 1700 which takes the 99B-3234. You may or may not need the lower mounting bracket kit, you will have to visually check that: https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/APK-10000-Spartan-Lower-Shock-Mounting-Bracket-Kit ( Support )
I need the front and rear part numbers for Koni 99 series shocks for a 2018 Tiffin 37PA RED motorhome with a freight liner XC Solid Beam Front Suspension.

Thanks,
John
( John, 03/04/2018 )
Koni does not make an EVO 99 style shock for the beam axle Freightliner. You would need FSD part #’s 8805-1020 for the front and 8805-1022 for the rear.  ( Support )

Before I place order for Koni 99B-3209 shocks for my Spartan Mountain Master I-Beam chassis I need conformation that this shock will fit. Per my conversation with Spartan Motors Tech Support they are telling that Koni has not issued a Koni shock for this type front axle.Your help would be much appreciated as I have past experience with Koni and they are excellent shocks.

( Michael, 02/03/2016 )

Michael,

The 99B-3209 part # replaces the 8805-1021 part # which Koni still lists as the correct shock for the MountainMaster I-Beam, so in theory, yes that would be the correct part #.
