Koni 8805-1016

Description:

Koni Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) shock absorbers provide superior handling characteristics without compromising ride comfort. The FSD is firm where you need it, such as through corners, but rides soft over expansion joints and rough roads. A special valve filters out annoying vibrations before they enter the vehicle, resulting in a smooth ride over a variety of road surfaces.

Applications:

  • Monaco Roadmaster RR8R 8 Bag Chassis
  • Holiday Rambler RR8R 8 Bag Chassis
  • Beaver Santiam (2004+)

*Verify top mounting arrangement, this shock mounts on with a vertical stud/pin. If you have a eyelet you need a 8805-1004 instead.
This chassis requires 1 shock per airbag, so make sure quantity in cart is "4" to do all front shocks.

Can you tell me the correct bottom torque spec for the front shocks for a Roadmaster RR8R chassis? I am putting on Koni shocks, and the shocks came with a note for the top nut (74 ft lbs), but not sure what the bottom bolt should be torqued to. Thanks for your help ( Anthony Gilbert, 05/08/2024 )
You will want to tighten the lower shock bolts to approximately 85-90 lb ft. ( Support )
1995 Beaver Patriot 37' Spartan Chassis.
Need information for replacing front and rear shocks.
Thank you
( Kurt, 02/02/2024 )
Hello Kurt , if you can get us the existing shock part #'s we can possibly cross them over to a Koni #,  otherwise we recommend contacting Spartan directly for part #'s .  ( Support )
I'm only able to tighten the locknut flush with the end of the threaded shaft. These thick rubber bushings aren't very compressible.
Is this normal with these shocks?
Thanks.
( Fred, 12/12/2023 )
Hello Fred, the rubber bushings are firm, but should compress slightly when installed. As long as the plastic lock portion of the locknut is engaging the threads and the bushings are slightly compressed that would be acceptable .  Usually you will have a few threads extending out of the lock nut .  ( Support )
2008 Roadmaster RR10S chassis

This shock measures 22.1" extended length. The comparable Bilstein shock is over 24" extended length.

Can my air leveling system overextend these shocks and break the mounts off?
( Fred, 12/09/2023 )
The 22.13" length is measured from the center of the eyelet to the top of the inner rubber bushing. Measured overall from the middle of the eyelet to the end of the stud is close to 25". ( Support )
