This part is on back order. do you know of anyone that rebuilds these brake assemblies?
( JOE STILLWELL, 08/09/2024 )
Hello, those are not rebuildable , however we are expecting them mid-September . You can call in and place a pre-order if needed to ensure you get one, we are expecting to get 20 of them and a couple are already spoken for. ( Support )
My brake will not release when I try to shift into Drive. The electronic shift indicator does not change out of the P indication. I just need to know if this is the correct part for the application.
( John Fleming, 09/08/2020 )
This is the correct brake assembly for your Freightliner but if it was bad, it typically would have the opposite issue in that the brake would not hold. My guess is there is an issue with your Allison transmission neutral position switch that isn't telling the brake to disengage because it thinks it is still in park. ( Support )
I need to verify this is the brake assembly I need for my 2005 W24 chassis. Can you verify shipping costs to Canada postal code K7A 4S7
Also should I change the seal in the tail of transmission while changing park brake assembly?
( Jason Steacy, 08/03/2020 )
Jason, That is the correct part based on your VIN, for shipping you would have to email us your complete address. Please email to support@urvp.com. You can change that seal while you have it apart, that would not be a bad idea. ( Support )
Hydraulic auto parking brake will not engage and hold the RV in place. I’ve been told if that happens the J72 parking brake unit needs to be replaced.
( Vince Thomas, 06/17/2020 )
Vince, You would need to replace the brake on the back of the transmission. Part# W8001667 based on your VIN. Please highly consider installing the US2078 kit with that brake, as that new brake will fail again without it installed. The factory controllers and the wiring are known issues causing brake failures, this kit is a roadblock for those issues to damage the brake. ( Support )
2005 Workhorse Parking brake leaking out bottom. Is W8001667 the correct number for assembly. Is a kit available. Let me know and price. Thanks.

Dan,
Looks like you have the GM 4L85E transmission so you need a different brake assembly, this one is for the Allison transmission. Here is a link to the one you require: https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/Auto-Park-Brake/W8003103-Brake-Asm-Propshaft-Park,-Without-Yoke-(Boxed)

IS THIS THE PART I NEED 2005 WORKHORSE W8001667 - J72 Propshaft Brake Assembly
( RON WOODALL, 12/09/2015 )
Ron,
Yes you have a W24 chassis and this is the correct brake assembly for the back of your transmission. We recommend installing the US2078 kit to prevent future brake lock-ups.

Im installing a p/n 4198856 parking brake assy. And would like to know the torque spec on the unit to trans Case and yoke to gear
( curtis, 06/26/2015 )
The bolts attaching the brake assembly to the transmission housing should be torqued to 89 lb ft (121 Nm). The yoke attachment bolt should also be torqued to 89 lb ft.
