Received the new part today - thank you. I haven't yet removed the old part. Before I do, can you share a basic description of the use of the metal jacket and grease? It appears that the jacket fits on the cylinder body before inserting. Is the grease used to coat around the entire cylinder before inserting, or just the tip? Or is the tip kept grease free? Do you recommend dielectric grease on the electrical connection? Thank you in advance.

The grease will just need to be used around the sides of the sensor, inside the metal sleeve and not on the tip. The metal sleeve is just there to protect the sensor shaft from rubbing on the inside of the sensor hole. The use of dielectric grease is a good idea on any electrical connection that is exposed to the elements. ( Support )

Is it possible to clean off the speed sensor with alcohol as a temporary fix to determine which sensor needs to be replaced? I recently had both tie rod ends changed at a truck repair shop, and as a coincidence when i started up my unit at the shop, the ABS light was on. the service personal stated the did not touch the sensors.
( Dale Lufkin, 11/03/2020 )
Yes, you can pull the sensors out and clean and re-insert to see if that corrects the issue. You can also test the resistance of the sensor, there should be between 900 to 2000 ohms measured between the two pins. To measure the resistance at the sensor connector, disconnect the sensor from the sensor extension cable. Connect the ohmmeter to the two sockets on the sensor cable. ( Support )

Hi,
Your VIN indicates you have a Spartan chassis. We do not have a way to look up parts by VIN for Spartan so I recommend contacting them directly to verify part #'s. Their phone # is 800-722-3025.

Dear Sir's, I have a 2002 Hoilday Rambler motorhome on a workhorse chassie. The ABS lite comes on. I was greaseing the other day and noticed that the ABS sencor was broke off . Is this part hard to change. Found the part on your website. Can you tell me how to change it. Your help will be very thankful and helpful. Thanks. P>S> It is on the left rear tire.
( Dale Pisciotta, 03/30/2016 )
Dale,
This is not a difficult part to replace. The sensor slides into a hole on the back of the wheel hub so you would just need to extract that plug, unplug the other end and install the new one.
