Guidelines:

  • You are responsible for shipping us your cluster for repair.
  • Please ensure your cluster is clean before sending it to us! If we receive your cluster excessively dirty, you WILL be charged a $25 cleaning fee.
  • Please note that we have a 2-3 business day turnaround time from the time we RECEIVE your cluster.
  • This repair is only for the LCD screens that become hard to read or completely unreadable or for inoperative gauges.

Always send the instrument cluster as a complete unit. Do not take it apart or just send the internal parts, we will not return it until we have the casing due to the high risk of damage in shipping.

Description:

Not just a repair, but a permanent solution.

This rebuild is guaranteed to restore your faded or difficult to read odometer with a brand-new LCD panel vastly superior to the original. Your instrument cluster will retain the same vehicle mileage, as it is stored on a memory chip that is not disturbed in the rebuild.

Our Industrial Grade LCD Screen has an easy-to-read dark blue background contrasted with white text.  We do not change the illumination color or backlight of the instrument cluster; it will remain OEM. Other repair services usually use the OEM replacement display which will fail again in short time.  The reason for this is because the OEM display uses a flimsy bonded plastic ribbon. Our panels have an estimated lifespan of at least 30 years.

This quality repair service includes the following work performed to your Workhorse instrument cluster:

  • Full power up and test of the instrument cluster before & after repairs
  • Replacement of faulty OEM LCD with industrial rated panel
  • Dark blue back light color for highest contrast and easy daytime/evening reading (odometer display only)
  • Replacement of all gauge stepper motors with higher quality motors
  • EEPROM data (mileage) preserved so display automatically reads correct mileage
  • Lifetime warranty on LCD screen and gauge motors
  • Any open recall campaigns on your cluster are performed at no additional cost to you.
  • We Update your cluster to the latest software version based on your VIN. This cures the cluster randomly resetting during operation and an ABS light software issue.
  • Please anticipate a 2-3 business day turnaround time from the time we RECEIVE your cluster.
  • Your account will be updated with the return tracking number upon our receipt of your cluster.  The tracking number will be emailed to you. The tracking number will not become active until the cluster repair is finished, which is generally 2-3 business days.  To check the status of your repair, please check the tracking number for movement on the shipper’s website.  If the shipment hasn’t been scanned by the shipper yet, then your cluster repair is still in process.

Just want to make sure I am requesting the right thing. My cluster, the LCD screen is definitely failing but the guages appear to work ok. if I send in for this repair, you'll also replace the guage motors, correct? My thought process is I might as well do the whole thing while it's out for the LCD repair. ( Drew, 04/16/2024 )
Hello Drew, the complete repair changes the LCD screen as well as the stepper motors for the gauges. We agree with your thought process on that as the gauge motors are somewhat failure prone and we have upgraded, lifetime warranted replacements we install.   Applications:

The speedometer does not work most of the time. Everything else works fine. The previous owner stated the problem started when he added a louder horn under the hood. I will check the diagnostics from the video I saw on your site to see if it is the cluster or cables. What do you think? I have a 2005 W22 chassis. Jeff ( Jeff Ray, 08/08/2023 )
Usually issues like these indicate a failing gauge stepper motor. We replace the gauge stepper motors only with this repair service: 105297G
While driving, especially on rough roads and interstates, the instrument cluster goes completely inactive, all gauges are at zero. Then when another stretch of rough roads, the cluster comes back to life and all gauges appear to be reporting proper readings. Could there be a loose or bare wait causing this.
Also, I see error code of 'no J1850 activity and a second error no J19-- activity'.
    Is this repairable.
    I have a 2006 Workhorse driving a motor home
    ( Ronald E Theede, 07/17/2023 )
Based on your description of the issue, it definitely sounds like an issue with the wiring going to the cluster. I would try to massage the wiring harnesses under the dash to see if you can replicate the issue.
I have a 2005 Winnebago Sightseer WFD30B not sure of the workhorse version...and the LCD display is unreadable and i would like to get that fixed can you tell me what my options are and the cost? ( Robert Arndt, 05/08/2023 )
You can send in your cluster and we will replace the screen and all gauge motors for $299. Alternatively, you can purchase the screen only and do the repair yourself, which is $149.
My fuel gauge is off by about 1/4 tank indication. The fuel gauge will show 3/4 full when the tank is actually at 1/2 full.

Will the instrument full cluster repair (105297R) with stepper motor replacement/upgrade solve this issue or is it a problem with a fuel sensor sending unit somewhere else in the system?
    ( Dave Ritterbusch, 02/07/2023 )
You can isolate the issue to either the gauge itself or the sender by running a gauge sweep test on your cluster. Click HERE to read instructions on how to perform the gauge sweep test.
