Premium brake pads are manufactured using the same positive molding process utilized by Original Equipment suppliers. Positive molding uses extreme pressure to compress the friction material and bond it to the backing plate. This process assures consistent friction material density throughout the pad; resulting in even wear and performance characteristics throughout the life of the brake pad. Premium brake friction features either precision cut or shaved backing plates and mechanically attached shims; these small details ensure proper fitment in the caliper and virtually eliminate noise associated with pad vibration. In addition to these features they also are subjected to a scorching process. This additional process forces any impurities out of the friction material and pre-burnishes the pads to greatly accelerate the break-in process.

I purchased these brake pads from you for a brake job in 2021… roughly… I’ve been dealing with some front oil seal leaks and would like to know, will the 90 weight oil leaking onto these brake pads affect them long-term, or will braking return to normal once the oil leaks are fixed? Hey Dale,

If the pads are oil soaked from the gear lube, you would have to replace them. There is no way that I am aware of to get that out of the pad material. If you try to clean them, it will only clean the surface, once they get hot again it draws out the gear lube back to the surface.
