With an unmodified, healthy engine, it should read somewhere close to the 330HP value. I believe the calculations it uses to determine that number is based on engine HP before drivetrain loss.

Yes, the device will give you a lot more information than what your dashboard is set up for.

As long as it has a round 6 or 9 pin connector near the steering column it should connect and show some data. Being the age it is, it may not have all gauges supported.

I have a 2000 Damon Ultrasport model 3860 with a cummins 275 hp iSB engine on a Freightliner chassis. Will this scanner work? If so how do I connect?

If you have a round diagnostic connector at your cockpit area, it should connect and read information. On an early model like that, you probably won't get as much data as the newer ones but it should give you basic parameters.
