I have a couple of SCT tuners, that I have bought for other vehicles that I own. Can I use one of those, buy your softwear, and still be able to use it on my other truck if needed, or will it erase everything that was on it before? ( Daniel R Morrison, 11/16/2020 )

We do offer our tune only for folks that already own SCT devices: https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/Ford-V10-UltraPower-Tune-Only

Depending on the model of SCT device you have, you can have multiple custom tunes loaded at the same time. X4's allow up to 10. The only thing you can't do, is use the device on more than one vehicle at a time.

I HAVE A 2011 RV WITH A V-10 THAT I GOT A TUNER FOR THINKING FOR SURE THAT IT WAS A 3 VALVE MOTOR, I JUST HAD THE COIL PACKS REPLACED AND WHEN THE MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE PLUGS HE SAID IT WAS RUNNING A LITTLE LEAN. HE ALSO BOUGHT 3 VALVE COIL PACKS AND FOUND OUT IT WAS A TWO VALVE MOTOR. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE TUNE I HAVE IS FOR A 2 VALVE MOTOR AND NOT A THREE VALVE MOTOR. IT HAS RUN ON THIS TUNE FOR ABOUT 50,000 MILES TROUBLE FREE BUT WE HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE MOTOR BECAUSE IT WENT DOWN DO TO A LEAN CONDITION.

All of the E-series Ford's used the 2 valve head design, which we would have tuned to by the VIN and strategy code. The tune wouldn't cause the engine to run lean but you can return to stock to do the diagnostics if that is helpful to the mechanic.
I purchased a SCT X4 that came with it's tune software and I loaded it on my 2011 E450 and it solved most of the shifting issues. Is this a different tune than what came with my X4 that I loaded?
Are they improved after time? I'm happy with mine but always room for improvement.

The SCT devices come pre-loaded with tune files for some vehicles, but these are just base files that SCT has put together without much real world testing. Custom tuning changes a lot more parameters and is real world and dyno tested extensively versus just modification based on theory.
