Yes, you can do this. You just would not be eligible for the core refund as you won't have any to send in exchange.
Hello, I recently purchased and installed your ecu into my 2002 suburban 8.1. All is well runs great. The truck has a cold air intake, magna flow exhaust cat back system and 35” tires. Is there any other further tuning needed for my application or is the regular one you sent me fine for what I’ve got going on? Thanks for your help

Unless your speedometer is off due to the tire size change, you wouldn't require additional tuning changes.
Hello, I have a 2005 GMC Yukon Xl 2500 with the 8.1L Vortec and a fully Built 4L85E lots of upgrades in the transmission, with factory shift points for towing not racing. What would I expect from using your product for my truck? I tow a 9,000# travel trailer through the Mountains, would it help with towing? and what type of MPG would I expect? Thanks.

The horsepower and torque gains, as well as optimizing the shift points and pressures, will make a noticeable difference when pulling in the hills. Not only will you have better acceleration, you will be able to maintain a bit higher speeds and gears than when stock. We don't guarantee any sort of MPG gains, but we do hear back from a lot of our customers that the mileage was slightly improved.
So is the core charge an exchange for the ecm abd tcm of my factory ones on my motorhome?
